WinX DVD Ripper Platinum is a tool that will convert your Video-DVD’s into various video formats. 

To do so, you’ll basically have to do just three things: insert your DVD into the drive and let the software scan it: when it’s done the content of the disk will be displayed on the right side. Then, you’ll have to select the file format your DVD will be converted into (AVI, WMV, MP4, 3GP, MPEG, etc.) and then just press the Start button. 

However, the software has advanced settings in case you want to tweak the output quality of the video or audio. You can change the video resolution, video frame rate, audio sample rate, audio volume, how many CPU cores the application will use and much more. 

The software interface is simple and intuitive so I’m quite sure even without conversion or ripping knowledge you’ll find your way through ripping your DVD’s. This way, you can watch them without inserting the DVD every time or you'll be able to watch them on your iPhone, PSP or other device. Of course, be sure to respect copyright legislation. 

Pluses: Multi-core CPU support; full compatible with Windows 7; Possibility to rip copy protected DVD’s. 

Drawbacks / flaws: No preview option for the output file. 

In conclusion: A friendly interface ripper that will just do the job with just a few mouse clicks.
